Controlled airspace here needs FAA authorization before launch; LAANC grants it in advance and it is filed as part of scheduling.
Downtown and most of the urban core sit under the Class B airspace of San Diego International Airport, which requires FAA LAANC authorization for commercial drone flights, while MCAS Miramar and Naval Air Station North Island are federally restricted.
City of San Diego parks, including Balboa Park, and city beaches are closed to drone takeoff and landing without a special event permit.
San Diego Municipal Code Section 43.0304 makes it illegal to discharge polluted wash water from pressure washing or hosing down buildings and windows into the storm sewer system; wash water is controlled, contained and captured, then disposed of to the sanitary sewer.
San Diego's Development Services Department requires a Traffic Control Permit for any work that encroaches into the public right-of-way, including sidewalks and parking spaces, and processing a new permit takes about 15 business days.
Flights stage from the client's own property with the owner's written consent; public parks and rights of way are not used as launch sites without a permit.
Rinse water is contained and recovered wherever the local storm-drain rule requires it, and the containment method is written into the proposal.
