Utah bans flying over surface critical infrastructure such as refineries, substations, water treatment plants, and telecommunications towers without written authorization from the facility.
Utah Code 76-12-302 bars unauthorized observation or recording in private places, but exempts drones flown for legitimate commercial purposes consistent with FAA rules where capture of a person is only incidental.
Salt Lake City International Airport operates Class B airspace; LAANC or direct air traffic control approval is required across much of the metro valley before launch.
Utah does not require a state contractor license for pressure or soft washing; a local city or county business license may still apply.
Salt Lake City's stormwater program allows individual residential car washing as a limited exception but warns that other wash water needs care to keep it out of the storm sewer system.
